M49 Argus Observation Super Grade Spotting Scope with Tripod and Case

This is the civilian version of the Military M49 sniper spotting scope used in WWII and manufactured by Argus Camera. The only difference between the civilian and military versions is the color, with the civilian version being black and the military version being olive drab.

The scope itself is in very good condition with some minor paint scuffing along the body from use. The lens are clear and undamaged. The tripod stand is a Davidson Mark 245. The paint on the tripod is pretty rough, but the stand and all of the height and angle adjustments still work smoothly.

The original strap to hold the scope to the tripod is missing. I substituted a piece of bungee cord for the picture. The original carry case for the scope is solid leather with a purple velvet lining. The previous owner reinforced the bottom with duct tape where it appears the leather bottom was starting to separate. The picture of the original sales ad is from a Google search.
