If you're looking for more than just a spotting scope if you want history, craftsmanship, and character - this is it. This is a vintage American-made Unertl 24x63 spotting scope, complete with an adjustable Freeland Products tripod, a custom wooden field box, handwritten notes, and even a secret compartment holding decades-old papers that remain untouched.
It's not just gear - it's a story. Model: 24x63 (marked 24x, currently fitted with a 32X eyepiece). 3-160 early production, highly collectible.
Glass is bright and field-tested in the Flagstaff mountains. Image clarity was excellent during use; no major haze. Upon close inspection, one lens appears to have a small black speck and some internal dust (not uncommon for its age).
We have not attempted disassembly or cleaning we wanted to preserve its untouched, original condition. Some cosmetic wear is present including tripod cradle rub marks and surface scratches on the body. Vintage match/benchrest tripod with adjustable cradle and leather strap system. Fully functional and historically appropriate for the Unertl scope.

Weight: 8 lbs 3 oz. Features custom dividers, a rope-wrapped carrying handle, and built-in compartments. Two handwritten checklists from the previous owner detail what gear went where - including. Cleaning rods, tools, scoreboards, screwdrivers, even personal items like tobacco pouches and bullet seating tools. One side of the box contains a hidden paper slot with original field documents still tucked away inside - we haven't removed them (the mystery remains for you to solve).Also includes vintage AeroSeal clamp used as a practical field fix for securing the scope in the cradle. This isn't just a scope. It's a slice of mid-20th century precision shooting history possibly used by a military spotter or competitive shooter.
