It was used as a spotting scope in the vast, open landscape of Montana. Some of my buddies lugged big spotters around and were teasing me about my "baby" scope - until they looked through it and then called it the "Pocket Hubble". Theoretically, the outstanding clarity and fidelity of this small mirror scope is supposed to come at the price of a slightly lower light transmission, which I never noticed in comparison with conventional high-end spotters of the same lens diameter and magnification. Zeiss must have spared no effort and expense when designing and manufacturing this instrument.
This went all the way to details like a molded-in gun sight on top of the scope that makes finding things in the distance very easy and quick. The scope is in excellent condition with pristine glass surfaces.
It is for sale since I now live and hunt in Western North Carolina where we simply have too many trees to make use of this fine long-range spotter. They will forward it to Germany for repair -if ever necessary- at their cost.
Included is the detachable motor focusing unit that runs on 4 AA batteries. I never used the motor unit in the field since the scope is easy to focus manually but the motor is a nice testament of German over-engineering that came with the scope. Also included are two neoprene bags that will fit and protect scope and motor unit nicely and a clamp/mini tripod. The lightweight clamp can be used together with a hiking pole or screwed into a tree for wiggle free observation.
