This is a package that gathers more light than nearly all other spotting scopes, yet weighs. It travels easily, provides a superior twilight image, and arrives with the brilliant Zeiss Vario eyepiece which has 20-60x adjustable magnification. Zeiss' best products are not just known for the resolving power and functionality; they produce an image with notably white whites, as if the whites were finally given a proper wash with bleach, and that special quality really makes the Zeiss' image stand out in a crowd of greatness. This is the angled version of the 85mm Diascope. While it is entirely a matter of personal preference which cannot be determined but through experience, many prefer angled scopes for extended glassing periods and it is certainly easier to share the view of an angled scope amongst multiple viewers. Like all of Zeiss' optical products, both the 85mm Diascope and the Vario zoom eyepiece are individually tested to assure absolute waterproof and fogproof performance. The Diascope's two-stage geared coarse/fine focusing dial allows you to quickly get into the ballpark with the rough focus and then refine the sharpness with the second finer adjustment. This is especially beneficial towards the higher magnification of the eyepiece. Zeiss aluminum tripod and fluid head by Manfrotto. This is an older tripod that is in very good condition overall. Fluid head looks very similar to Manfrotto 128RC model. Includes tripod with center column, fluid head with handle and quick release plate, and shoulder strap. Oversized 3.3 objective lens gathers plenty of light. Incredibly bright, contrasty images with notably crisp whites. Magnesium fluoride T & P multicoatings dramatically increase light transmission.
