The subjective viewing angle of 68° (80m/1000m) at 15 x magnification is both unique and unrivalled. You can observe birds and other animals at magnifications of up to 45x and see even small details brilliantly in the overall view. The unrivalled brilliance of the natural colours and the outstanding image brightness result from the use of high-performance fluoride glass.

The FL concept means you will hardly see any chromatic aberrations. Even the finest details are pin sharp and in impressive colours images that caress the eye. The challenge for Carl Zeiss was to combine this optical image with photography. A beam splitter is used to create these brilliant, high-contrast images, both for visual observation via the eyepiece and for digital photography. The Victory PhotoScope 85 T FL was designed to offer spectacular observations and nature photography.

Snow, rain or storm conditions should prove no obstacle to performance. The optics and electronics are enclosed in a sturdy housing while the robust, scratchproof rubber armour stands up to even the most challenging outdoor conditions.

At the same time the black surface finish prevents any light reflection that could give away your position when indulging in wildlife photography. Photograph birds and shy animals in their natural surroundings and behaviour without disturbing them. Compared to SLR cameras with their hinged mirrors, the beam splitter creates an image in total silence and - more importantly - with no vibration on the 7 megapixel, low-noise CCD sensor. Photographs are taken using an electronic remote control. This also serves to avoid camera shake, which can be a serious problem at such extreme focal lengths.

This will give you the sharpest photographs even over longer distances at maximum magnification. Whether you want to look at your photographs or change the parameters, the large, particularly bright 7 cm OLED monitor is the perfect solution. The monitor can be folded out and swiveled round. This means you can show your fellow observers the target in question quickly and easily.

The specially developed autofocus assist function makes corrections to the manual focussing where necessary, to compensate for even minor focussing errors and ensures you still get a sharp image. Special moments often consist of more than a single image: A movement, the interaction between wild animals and their environment. These moments can now be captured in AVI video format. You can use the live image mode of the monitor to track your filming and recreate the unique live experience.

Alongside the automatic functions you can choose from a wide range of manual settings, such as the manual entry of a colour temperature to achieve the desired white balance, ISO values from 50 ASA, spot measurements, bracketing function, series lighting or lighting control using histograms. This means even advanced users can enjoy maximum freedom and creativity so that the most can be made of both photographer and equipment.
